Meet the English girl...

Well Hello!
Before I do my questionaire, I'll give you a super quick bio.
I am a Wife, Mummy, photog, crafster, traveller, foody (seriously...I love food), secret nerd, love music (playing instruments, singing, listening...you name it!), a self proclaimed broadway baby {insert jazz hands} and anything that involves my children! If they love it, I love it!! :)

 3, 2, 1.....

1. Tell me something obvious about you.
According to Americans, I have a funny accent....according to me..YOU have the funny accent.
2. Tell me something about you that many don't know.
I love listening to nerdy Podcasts, all the How Stuff Works? podcasts are AWESOMENESS. Stuff you missed in history class, desert island discs and the nerdist are some of my faves,
3. What is your biggest fear?
Being boring or a copycat. I want to constantly challenge myself and build who I am. Living different places, or at least visiting new places, meeting new people/cultures and learning new things. Nothing scares me more than thinking i'm not allowing my children to see how amazing this world is and all it has to offer us, so as a result we try to let them experience as much as we can. :)
4. Do you normally go the safe route or take the short cut?
I'm more of a safe route kind of girl. This way I don't miss anything. Also it makes my husband and I a better team...he's the excitement, and i'm the sometimes needed brakes! haha!
5. Name one thing you want that you can't buy with money.
True Love.
6. What is your most treasured possession?
My DSLR camera/phone camera. I can't go anywhere without it. I started with a Canon Rebel and moved onto the 60D and just bought a 5d mark ii. Photography is something I fell into once I had my children. I've always had an arty side (thanks to my Dada, who is an artist) and when I picked up a camera and started capturing moments of my children, I couldn't put it down. It has helped me remember moments that otherwise would be a blur. Their time in the NICU, which was emotional and more than stressful, 1st birthday cake smashes, first steps etc....at the time I would never had known how much I treasure those images I took as they take me straight back to the time, the smells and feelings. I adore my camera. If I don't have my camera...you can guarantee i'm snapping on my iphone instead. :)
7. What is the one thing you hate most about yourself that you do often?
Insecurity, lack of confidence and general introvertedness. I chicken out of doing something, or saying something in case I offend, speak out of turn or simply bore someone. I often have to look at other girls that I admire and take a deep breath and MAKE myself do/say what I want to just to prove I can. I'm getting better with age, but man, I really am a wuss when it comes to standing up for myself.
8. What is your favorite lie to tell?
I really hate lies. So I definitely don't have a favourite one. I just don't understand dishonesty.
9. Name something you've done once that you can't wait to do again.
Taken a huge leap of faith with our family, and i'm always up for new ones. As long as we've thought it through somewhat, prayed about....then I think leaps of faith are refreshing. :)
10. Are you the jealous type?
Jealousy is a relationship killer. Why be jealous? Our rules are as a married couple, share everything. Once secrets start the jealousy begins. It stems from the unknown. One day I will do a post about this, as it's something I feel strongly about. My husband and I have always respected one another and protected each other, I think that if we are always looking out for each other that we can ensure one another has no need to feel jealous. There are steps to take to avoid it and so it's definitely something I will blog about one of these days! :)
11. What is the one person, place or thing you can't say no to?
Person? Well that will always be my youngest child. Whoever it is. I think it is for any parent. Unless you just have one...then it's that one. Haha! So to make it interesting I'll go with thing...and that's Dolly Mixture sweets. Oh.my.goodness. They are SO good. Horribly bad for your teeth, but SO good. I'm sorry, but that is for sure, one certain thing...America "candy" is rotten! haha! England does it SO much better....and Chocolate...don't even get me started! ;)
12. What is the nicest thing someone has ever done for you?
When I met my now husband, we were dating seriously, and I knew that I suffered from a pretty crappy disease which affected my fertility. He had just picked me up from an urgent care where I had been treated for severe pain. I remember crying outside before we got in the car and just blurting out that I might not be able to have children and I understood if that was too much to handle. (As a side note: Our religion is very much family based, and at 20, I naively only thought that a family was one that was "born" to you. (Gah! I know! Silly, right!?) and so I thought he would feel like he was having a whole potential family life taken away from him, and wouldn't get to experience that if he married me.) Annnyywaayys....long story short, I remember like it was yesterday, he took my shoulders in his hands, and shook me and said "Are you kidding me???", he squeezed me in and told me, "It's YOU. YOU would be my family. I want YOU. Not you with guarantees. Children are a bonus....but not the reason. We make our family from what we have, I LOVE YOU for YOU, not what you can offer me". And yes, that's pretty much exactly what he said....as i'll never forget it. That moment was one of the the best moments in my life so far. It was just a small moment in a parking lot outside an urgent care, but ended up being one of the biggest moments of my life. It made me feel of worth, and he never knew quite how important those words were to me.
13. If you could do something crazy right now, what would it be?
Have another baby! <----How's that for crazy!?!?
14.When was the last time you felt so good that nothing else mattered?
When we brought home our youngest from the hospital to meet his siblings, and we all just played on the floor of our living room. There is something so special when families grow and meet one another for the first time. It's magic....
15. Do you feel comfortable in public with a swimsuit on?
Oh goodness no! But i'm definitely working on it!
16. Name something embarrassing you've done.
You could pretty much take your pick with which story you want to hear. I'm forever humiliating myself, much to my husbands glee. :/
17. What is your favourite food/meal?
I love seafood. Sushi, paella, mussels in garlic and white wine sauce....ahhh my mouth is watering!!
18. What song could be the theme tune to your life?
Anything from a musical. Show tunes darrrrrling!
19. When did you know you were going to marry your husband?
When he fought for every bit of my confused 21yr old self. There was a lot going on with me at 21, and needless to say, moving countries is scary enough for most people, but I was going to be doing this alone. Not with my whole family...just me. When I knew he was strong enough to cope with my fears and to protect me, and make me feel like I wasn't alone and that I was the only girl in the world for him...I knew it was him.
